Meet us at central Barcelona Bus station and board one of our comfortable coaches as part of a reduced group led by a local guide. We are headed to Montserrat’s foothill, where you will experience one of the favorite activities: using the super scenic road to ascend to the monastery. You won’t forget the views!
The bus will land you at the very core of the mountain: the Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey, which you are to learn everything about thanks to your local guide. Ask everything you want, our guides are filled with knowledge of the area and its history. They will also provide with all the necessary information you need to decide how to invest your free time best, which comes just following.
Queuing to see the famous Black Madonna of Montserrat face to face, visiting the interesting art museum, stuffed with great surprises by artists such as Dali or Caravaggio, taking a funicular to go to higher parts of the mountain, or just hiking along one of the many trails to keep on enjoying the views… the options for your free time are just too many! (Tickets for these activities must be booked separately on Montserrat's website).
Ride back to Barcelona after this fulfilling experience to be dropped off at the same spot you were picked earlier in the morning, at the city’s heart.
*As an optional add-on, it is possible to take this Montserrat Highlights tour with a late departure (09:45 am) and adding the magnificient views in Coghweel train ride up the mountain.
Itinerary:
8:25 am - Meet at Castlexperience Office (1st Floor - Section B - Ticket office A, B or C). Estación de autobuses Barcelona Nord (North Bus Station). Carrer de Nàpols 68 (5 min from Arc de Triomf). You must check-in in the first floor before going to the buses area (ground floor)
08:45 am - Departure for Montserrat
10:00 am - Arrival to Montserrat by bus
10:15 am - Guided visit through Montserrat Monastery
11:00 pm - Free time in Montserrat (2 hours with the 8.45 departure and 2 hours with the 9.45 departure)
1:45 pm - Departure to Barcelona
3:30 pm* - Arrival to Estación de autobuses Barcelona Nord (North Bus Station)
*Please note that the 9.45 schedule has a one hour variaton, and the cogwheel train is used to get to the Monastery.
